Poof! Here I am to begin my web blog and join the internet herd. I’ve been reading a ton of blogs. Most of the blogs that interest me are the housing bubble blogs. They have a lot of good material. Some of them update daily and some just a few times a month. The blogs I really like are the ones with pictures and areas that I personally prefer, such as Irvine, San Diego and Seattle. These are cities I’d enjoy living in but I’m waiting for the right time to buy. Most of the bubble blogs are recommending to wait 18-24 months before buying into one as to not lose any money. I’m more interested in a condo vs a house. Many of them give good rental vs purchasing analysis with tax benefits and what happens if your property depreciates.

Although, most of the blogs that I read repeat themselves, what I appreciate about them are the actual examples they show where we see previous purchase prices with sale dates compared to what they were listed and a history of price drops. For someone like me, this is an exciting time, like a kid at Christmas time, waiting for Christmas day to come. I am saving money now to buy something I really couldn’t afford a few years ago. And the products coming out of recent are of higher quality, at least the condos I’ve been watching. The great thing now that I really appreciate is the easy access to information.
I like sights like Redfin, Zillow, and Trulia where I can type in an address and see what prices are going for and what have just sold. Better yet are the abundance of pictures available in the area and of the actual units. Back in the day when I owned my own house, you would have to rely on the Sunday papers or calling realtors. No offense to these wonderful people, but I am not really a social or outgoing person by nature and would prefer to avoid a sales pitch as well as waste their time. I am not in the market yet to buy but will probably try something new this 2nd time around. I will try Redfin to make an offer and get part of the commission paid back at closing. I also think in the internet age that would be appropriate since I am using all world wide web tools to do my research. Makes sense, right?
Another area of blogs I like to read are the personal finance blogs. Most of them have tons of useful stuff to use. I will give plugs, kudos, and props at a later time. I just wanted to get my feet wet in this new arena of the web. In a way, I don’t want to be left behind. I also want to make a contribution to society. And being an anti-social type this is my way to giving back. Don’t get me wrong. I love people. I just get uncomfortable being around them for long periods of time. I am sure it is some type of phobia. And it is not the public speaking phobia. I took a class and am able to do that because it is prepared. This phobia would be some where in the realm of being classified as being a chronic introvert or extreme shyness.
My wife will be helping me get this started since I really don’t have the know how just yet. Eventually, I would like to become self sufficient in maintaining this website. Right now, I am focusing on the material aspect. I meant to launch this quite a while back, but the procrastination bug got me. I think that bug comes from the TV because my TV just broke and now I have lots of time to start many little projects. Thanks for reading my blog and I will write as often as possible.
