Blogging

I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted on this blog. As with most sites, this is probably a reflection on my priorities in my life. A lot has changed for me since I last posted. I am now a vegan and most of my energies has been focused on making my life better and healthier.

Redesign

Wow, my wife has redesigned all my sites. I am extremely impressed with her abilities and happy with the results. She simply has a natural talent for this stuff. Thank you, Mrs NOID.

The good about this is she enjoys the designing part of this and understands codes better than me. What can I say, but I am extremely lucky to have her.

Social networking

I recently signed up for Twitter and it is actually ok. I get some updates that have links to breaking stories. I haven't joined Facebook. I already belong to Mybloglog, BlogCatalog, Digg, Technorati and Stumbleupon. I hardly use those social networking tools anymore but keep them active to some degree.

I think they are great tools if you are more socially active. In the beginning, I used these tools to help me blog and to learn how to attract traffic. Most of those sites are just self promotion tools now, so I have lost some interest in them. I would still recommend using them if you are a new blogger.

Pet peeves

This is one of those things that bother me, but probably is hard to relate to. When I shop, I like to try to find the lowest possible price on that item. Doesn't really matter what it is, I just want to get the cheapest price.

Anyways, I purchased some hard to find books that was back ordered for a month. The retail price was $75 at Borders and I used one of their 30% coupon and even got free shipping. There was no way I could get a lower price. Anyways, after waiting awhile the book became available and shipped. I checked Amazon and ouch. They lowered the price by 40% and also offered free shipping. On top of that they don't charge sales tax.

I know it is not a big deal. Just a pet peeve, but I am happy I have the books.

Staying busy

Things have been busy for me. I haven't blogged as often as I would like. Trying to get my taxes done, move storage, and fix up the house has kept me busier than usual. Any free time I have I try to fit in a movie.

I have joined twitter and it seems OK. I follow a few people and some news outlets for breaking stories. I don't log into it everyday.

Oscars and movies

Well, I watched the Oscars and really felt disappointed with some of the winners. I thought Avatar should of won and really didn't even enjoy the movie The Hurt Locker. I guess everyone has different tastes. I am happy that Sandra Bullock won an Oscar. Ironic she won the Razzie award for a different movie.

There was a cool song from one of the commercials. I looked it up on YouTube and thought they were great. The diet coke commercial had the Temper Trap singing their song Sweet Disposition. My wife wound up buying the whole album on Amazon for cheap. Someone commented there that this was on the 500 Days of Summer movie but I don't recall hearing it there.

Blogging everyday

Everyday, I have been blogging on one or more of my blogs. My main site CHESSNOID had its best day ever with over 17,000 hits. Of course that is not normal traffic for me. I blog about the Bachelor and for some reason the fans can't get enough of that show. They continuously search for more information on rumors and extra clips hidden somewhere on the internet. I have almost a hundred comments on that post. Isn't that amazing?

Lately, I have been tempted to sign up for facebook and twitter again. I think I have been going back and forth on this for a few months. I had a friend talk to me about it and he shares the same concerns as me. He doesn't want to be a public person that you can find because he is a private person. I suggested using an alias but does that defeat the purpose?

Blogging again

I think I am going to start a couple more blogs or sites. My friend just emailed a link that google allows you to make sites for free. Just like blogs. I am not sure what to do just yet.

I am doing well blogging on my movies blog everyday. My travel and food blog has slowed just a bit. My main CHESSNOID site almost gets posts once or twice daily. I guess it is funny that I never get tired of blogging my thoughts and ideas.

Come July it will be 3 years blogging. I sometimes wonder how long I will actually blog.

Everyday Blog Posting

I find it easier to post about different things easier than about other things. My movies blog I have actually been able to post on that everyday so far in January. I guess it is easy because I simply watch a movie and tell you if I liked it or not.

That blog has a specific purpose or goal while blogs about my thoughts are a little bit harder to nail down. My main blog I do write about my feelings, but more about my views on the economic and political environment.

This blog, well is just random thoughts of whatever. I suppose it would be like a twitter account. Except it is not about what I am doing next like drinking coffee and eating cake. LOL.

Random thoughts

I recently started another blog about food and travel. Just a nice place for me to post pictures. I have to say, I really enjoy posting on it and the posts take longer than usual for me. Check it out if you get a chance. You can get there through Mybloglog.
